Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Poetry City / Ciudad Poesía is a powerful, bilingual tribute to Miami by poet and artist Oscar Fuentes, known as The Biscayne Poet. Blending English and Spanish, memory and metaphor, Fuentes brings the city's neighborhoods, voices, and history vividly to life through poems that are deeply personal yet widely resonant. From quiet moments under a mango tree to the electric pulse of Biscayne Boulevard, this collection explores themes of family, migration, gentrification, love, and resilience. With poetic meditations that draw parallels between ephemeral verse and grounded art installations, Fuentes reflects on the intersection of language, identity, and place. Whether he is walking his dog through Little Haiti, writing beside a typewriter, or recalling his parents' strength, Fuentes invites us to slow down and experience Miami as a living, breathing poem. This book is more than a collection-it is a love letter, a political reflection, and a celebration of community, all pulsing with sabor and soul.
