Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Patty leaned on the railing between the two sides of their stoop, and squinted at Leonard. "You are really stuck in a rut, Leonard... Don't you get bored doing the same things all the time? ... You need to get a little excitement into your life. Spice things up a little bit." But Leonard J. Thompson is not particularly fond of spicy things. Leonard is what some might call a creature of habit. He is well aware that his life would not be described as exciting. Some might even call it "boring" but Leonard doesn't really see that as a problem. Excitement, in Leonard's opinion, is overrated. His life, these days, is safe and predictable, which is exactly how he likes it.That is to say, his life was safe and predictable, until the day his alarm clock - a graduation gift from his dear mother, God rest her soul - broke. With the help of his friend and neighbor, Patty, Leonard finds that sometimes the habits that we built to keep us safe in the past no longer serve us in the present. A Creature of Habit is a funny, heartwarming story about the experiences that shape us, the connections that sustain us, and the importance of learning how to pivot.
