Meet two expats: Harry Maddox, a lawyer for an American drug company, and Sam Roth, an old friend who is currently on the lam on pirating charges (hijacked three containers of drugs from a Shanghai pharmaceutical company that had been mysteriously closed by the Chinese government). Harry has gone to Shanghai to finalize a deal for the drugs and to see Echo, a Chinese informant, with the hope of continuing their affair. Harry tells Sam the truth. They are setting up AIDS clinics in the ghettos of South Africa.Both men suddenly realize that the Chinese government and drug dealers have promised some very major kingpins, very bad dealers, a multi-million-dollar score. Everyone is hunting them down. Neither showdown is going to end with a handshake or a safe exit. Echo may be the key and last shot, literally and figuratively, at getting these containers shipped.
