Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The 2024 Extravaganza One-Act Collection is a bold anthology of contemporary one-act plays created through the annual Extravaganza One Act Fest in Los Angeles - a celebration of emerging artists, original storytelling, and the creative process of live theater. Each play in the collection was developed, rehearsed, and performed under real production conditions and in front of a live audience, capturing the immediacy, vulnerability, and energy of new theatrical work in motion.Inside, readers will find a wide range of voices, genres, and theatrical worlds: dark comedy, satire, emotional family drama, social commentary, cultural confrontation, moral dilemmas, and stories that refuse easy answers. From workplace absurdity to historical consequence, from intimate personal reckonings to larger societal questions, every play is driven by a distinct point of view and a willingness to take creative risks.Featuring actor-driven contemporary material, ensemble storytelling, and character-focused scenes, the anthology offers rich opportunities for performers, acting students, directors, educators, and small theaters seeking original modern plays for performance, rehearsal, and study.Created as part of the annual Extravaganza One Act Fest, this collection represents what happens when artists commit fully to process, collaboration, experimentation, and live performance - pushing past comfort and following an idea all the way to the stage.Artists doing the work.
