Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

What does it mean to live as someone who has been renewed in Christ? The Christian life is not sustained by outward conformity, positive thinking, or temporary religious enthusiasm. It flows from the saving work of God and takes visible shape through a renewed mind, a life directed by the Holy Spirit, and a love governed by the truth of Scripture.Renewed in Christ examines three closely connected dimensions of Christian growth: thinking according to what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and worthy of praise; walking by the Spirit rather than gratifying the desires of the flesh; and practicing the patient, self-giving love described in 1 Corinthians 13.Drawing especially from Philippians 4:8-9, Galatians 5:13-26, and 1 Corinthians 13, Ronald Reid explains how biblical doctrine shapes everyday Christian character. He addresses the relationship between grace and obedience, the continuing conflict with sin, the fruit produced by the Spirit, and the practical demands of Christian love.Written for ordinary believers, this book combines careful biblical teaching with clear application. It calls Christians to pursue holiness without trusting in their own strength, to examine their lives without losing sight of grace, and to grow in the character that belongs to those who have been united to Christ.
