JUDAH JOSEPH BECAME BLUE EAGLE.His quest to be a Susquehannock warrior in colonial America is highlighted by cultural clashes, heroic journeys, tribal obstacles, colonial diseases, hunting, conflicts, power disputes, and battles with warring enemies. His followers will remember his inspirational leadership as The Last Great Susquehannock Chief. In the middle of the 17th century, a young Jewish man took his first steps toward becoming a Susquehannock warrior and chief. Captured in a raid on a New Amsterdam settlement, Judah wins a place among the tribe that snatched him out of his simple, ordinary life of a leather goods maker. Across a wilderness and within the tribal community that he comes to lead, Judah becomes Blue Eyes, and then Blue Eagle, fighting enemy nations that were both native and colonizing. His courage and insights are tested in his journeys.
