Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Barbara J. Mack was twenty years old, raised on a family farm and steeped in the kind of love that comes from hard work and tight-knit roots, when a near-tragic car accident rewrote the life she thought she knew. The diagnosis that followed - a seizure disorder, in an era with little information and even less support - pulled her family closer, even as it pushed her into unfamiliar territory. Just as her seizures began to steady, an unexpected pregnancy arrived and upended everything again, thrusting her into single motherhood in the middle of an already uncertain fight.Through it all, family and friends held the line beside her.The Hand I've Been Dealt is Barb's telling of that fight - equal parts whimsical family memory and hard-won medical reckoning. It's a story for anyone learning to live with the hand they didn't choose.
